NESSy zeroE - BEITRAG SRF EINSTEIN

- complete covering 1000 m using only 22 kW

2SNOW, the cooperation between Baechler (CH) and Schubert Electrical Equipment (A) to produce artificial snow making equipment, makes one sit up and take notice of them since they have recently established a world energy saving record with their artificial snow making system. Using a system based on 26 pieces of 2SNOW-lances, it was possible to completely cover a 1,000m long and sometimes 100m wide ski slope on the Gerlitzen mountain in Carinthia (Austria) with artificial snow using only 22kW of electrical energy for the associated compressed air supply. Thus achieving a quantum leap in energy savings possibilities for the production of artificial snow!

Energy usage for snowmaking
- a review of the energy use of mobile snowmaking at Swedish ski resorts

Energi & Kalkylanalys AB working in cooperation with the Swedish Cross‐Country Ski Association, the Country Administrative Board of Dalarna, and the Energy Authority TestLab carried out an extensive test of the energy usage of snow guns at Swedish cross‐country ski facilities. The project has been run as a part of GREEN – A borderless energy work. The objective of the tests have been to investigate how much energy is being used for the making of snowmaking with mobile snow guns. The project also aims at investigating the opportunities of reducing the energy usage at snowmaking.

SnowTubing - the alternative

SnowTubes

Snow-tubes are made out of vinility tissue with a hard, very resistant PVC-bottom, with handles and adjustable draglines including rubber ring. The robust material garantees a permanent and unobjectionable service.

Measure „TOP TUBE“:
outside diameter:  100 cm
inside diameter: 45 cm
height:  30 cm

Snowtube complete for CHF 149.00
(mantle with hard PVC-bottom, inner tube and dragline with rubber ring)

Innertube comfort for CHF 29.00
(seat cushion for a better seating comfort)

NESSy - our new snowmaking system

New Energy efficient Snow lance System

  • 80% less air pressure than comparable lances
  • Up to 2°C higher snow making start temperatures (marginal temp.)
  • Higher water temperatures has less of an effect
  • Low noise emissions
  • No additives required

The new, patented snow maker NESSy is the result of over three years of research and development in collaboration with the Institute for Thermo- und Fluid-Engineering in the University of North West Switzerland, the Federal Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF) in Davos, the Nozzle Producer MVT micro technologies AG und the Snow Lance Manufacturer Bächler Top Track AG. The Project was supported by the KTI-Developmental Institute for Innovation for the Federal Office for Occupational Training and Technology.

Through field tests in a climate controlled wind tunnel with a detailed theoretical model numerous breakthroughs could be achieved and then optimized. The results of the breakthrough snow lance is a drastic reduction of the required air pressure, snow making at a 2 °C higher temperature and snow performance is affected less by higher water temperatures. Through improved nozzle technology and the reduced air pressure NESSy produces very low noise emissions.

The Modification of existing Bächler-Snow Lances is easily possible.

Modification of existing snow lances is on request.
